Fall is my favorite season. I love the colors, the big sweaters, the chill in the air and pumpkin flavored everything. With the fall season comes holidays and for me that means that some family will be coming from out of state to stay with us (yay!!). In addition to a good cleaning before they arrive, I like to have some fun decorative things around my house. This autumn leaf soap is a perfect way to welcome my guests to fall in my home and on top of that, it’s useful. You can never have too much soap, right?
Autumn Leaf Soap
Here’s what you need:
- Shea butter melt and pour soap
- Red and yellow soap colorant
- Leaf soap mold
- Pyrex glass measuring cup
- Spray bottle of rubbing alcohol
- Soap scent (I chose Apple)
Here’s what you do:
1. Cut off 4 ice cube sized pieces from your Shea butter soap block and put into your glass measuring cup.
2. Add a few drops of yellow food colorant and microwave for 30 seconds and mix.
3. Pour your melted yellow soap into just the leaf part of your mold, let harden for a few minutes and use your fingers to press your soap into the spots you missed.
4. Place your mold into the freezer for a few minutes.
5. Now wash your measuring cup, add about 4-5 ice cubes sized pieces of soap, and microwave for 45-60 seconds.
6. Mix in a teaspoon of the Apple scent.
7. Now pour your white soap over your leaf, filling to the top of the mold.
8. Place your mold back in the freezer for about 15-30 minutes or until hardened.
9. Carefully press up on the bottom of your mold to remove your soaps.
10. Next try a mix of orange and yellow for different colored leaves.
